The executive proceeded to remove all traces of his illegal experiments from SHODAN's system. Once the Hacker removed SHODAN's ethical constraints, he gave Diego level one access to the AI as a bargaining chip in case the TriOptimum moves in to arrest Ed. Using his position as Vice President, Diego promised the Hacker that if he performed a service, all charges would be dismissed and he would be fitted with an R-Graded military rig. While he feared dismissal and arrest, fate came in the form of the Hacker who was arrested for breaking into TriOptimum's corporate network. By no means am I bothered by this change, I just find it funny how Nightdive made him into more of Cyberpunk with extra emphasis on the “punk” part, and with some interactions with items for all we know he's quite familiar with firearms.Diego funded several illegal experiments, all of which were recorded by SHODAN. But in the remake, it's immediately established that The Hacker this time around is more of a petty thief that's more forward with his distaste towards authority with flipping off the TriOp guard in the beginning. ![]() By no means is he suppose to be some cool guy, he is pretty much a projection of the player being a helpless dork stuck in a bad situation that he's trying to make the most of. In the original game, he was seen as more of a reclusive dork that tried to access secure documents, and in turn was arrested by TriOp with the promise of amnesty and the Neural Interface by Edward Diego. By no means am I close to even completing this game, but I did notice some small character changes with The Hacker. ![]() I want to preface this by saying that this is simply a compare and contrast of The Hacker's characteristics between the old and new.
